One of the most valuable lessons I learned during my Business Intelligence coursework at Bellevue College is that a dashboard is much more than charts and graphs.
A meaningful dashboard begins with well-organized data.
In this series, I will document the complete process of building a healthcare analytics dashboard using the same workflow commonly used in Business Intelligence projects:
Step 1: Excel
Prepare and organize raw healthcare data.
Step 2: SQL Server
Import the data into SQL Server and write SQL queries using joins, filtering, grouping, and aggregate functions to transform the data into meaningful information.
Step 3: Power BI
Connect Power BI to SQL Server and create interactive dashboards that help answer business questions.
Step 4: Business Insights
Interpret the results and communicate findings through clear visualizations and reports.
This series will focus on practical healthcare analytics examples while continuing to strengthen my SQL, Power BI, and Business Intelligence skills.
